WELCOME!
Thanks for visiting the Macon Ultimate Network website. The main purpose of this site is to let Central Georgians know where they can go to play Ultimate Frisbee. Our players also have an interest in a variety of other sports like hashing, biking, water skiing and volleyball, so no matter how you prefer to get your exercise in the hot Georgia sun, you should find some guidance here. If you're into athletic fun and you live in the area, you've come to the right place! You should begin to realize that this is Macon's ULTIMATE website!
YOU'RE INVITED!
Everyone is welcome to attend our pickup games. We have a wide range of players at different ages and different skill levels. Beginners are encouraged to get into the game! There are no fees to pay!
| ULTIMATE PICKUP SCHEDULE: During Daylight Saving Time, we play early evenings, usually starting around 5:30 on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays. Throughout the year we’ll try to get at least one game played on the weekend, usually late in the afternoon.Check the Game Status page to check the game time and location. Use it to see if we have enough to play and to get the latest news before you go out! Let me know if you would like to play and can't update the roster yourself! |
This website took an 11-month hiatus since the former webmaster (Chad Woodard - that's him in aqua & red) moved to Kalifornya. Look for it to get back up to speed soon, with new enhancements in the works. Many thanks to Chad for investing his own time and money into maintaining it, even when it no longer served his personal interest. This site will be undergoing some changes, so please be patient if a link should fail or an old feature is gone. I'll fix problems as soon as I can!

- We're #1!!...on a Yahoo search that is! On 7/20 I submitted the website to the Google and Yahoo search engines and found on 7/21 that Yahoo puts us in their #1 spot when searching for Macon Georgia Ultimate Frisbee! We were up to about the 5th page on a Google search, but I titled the main pages and resubmitted the request and now we're on the 20th page.

Change of venue
We had to relinquish our old playing field at Mercer University when they decided to build a hotel on the site. We're still looking for the optimum location and are currently playing on one of 2 different fields, depending on the day of the week. The Central City Park location is convenient but the best playing surfaces are the outfields of the baseball diamonds. The Macon State field is nice but very inconvenient for most who work in the downtown area, thus we've been playing there only on Sundays. Directions and more information about both locations can be found in the above links.
| Please feel free to send me your comments and suggestions. Donations are always welcome to defer the expenses of running this site (Costs incurred since 7/3/06: $107.41, Contributions: $25.00). If you recognize the value in building a reliable roster of fellow players, do your part to keep the effort alive! Isn't it worth a couple of bucks? |
